The Amarna Project has just launched a fundraising campaign for the publication of church paintings from the 5th-7th century monastery at Kom el-Nana. Any support very gratefully received - no donation is too small.

The Amarna Project Team is deeply saddened by the loss of a number of priceless artefacts from Amarna during the recent looting of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. We call upon the international community of researchers, museum professionals and collectors for their support and vigilance in seeing these pieces returned.

Barry Kemp will be presenting a short lecture on Amarna at a workshop entitled 'Sickness, Hunger, War and Religion - from the Perspectives of Archaeology, History and Anthropology' at Ludwig-Maximilians University over 4-5 March.
